Research & Development:
To ensure our products meet the latest requirements for energy efficiency, low maintenance needs, and easy recycling, it is critical to address these requirements from the moment a product is developed. Our development process considers all necessary elements to reduce energy consumption, avoid additional maintenance actions on the airside, and facilitate easy recycling. Our product design allows for the easy dismantling of all components so they can be recycled separately, with many materials being reused for new products.
Safer Products:
In the design process, we focus on how our products contribute to a safer and more sustainable world. They enhance safety by providing better visual guidance, ensuring pilots are guided safely throughout the landing and departure process. Additionally, our products are designed for the safe operation by maintenance technicians and airfield staff, minimizing the risk of injury. We achieve this through safe product design, comprehensive documentation, and proper training.
Whatever the product or solution, OCEM Airfield always follows the same design principles:
1. Reduce Energy Consumption
We ensure that our products, with every new or updated development, further reduce energy consumption. Whether lights, power solutions, or control systems, our approach is to minimize energy consumption and educate customers on how to do the same when operating or maintaining our products and solutions.
2. Recycle Components
Although OCEM Airfield strives to improve the lifespan of our products, there comes a time when each product reaches its end of life and needs to be replaced. This necessitates the recycling of old products, which is often challenging due to their design and production.
This is why OCEM Airfield starts as early as the design phase by ensuring that every component of an OCEM product is easily recyclable. This allows us to recover most of the materials the lights or other products are made of, reducing waste to an absolute minimum. We avoid non-recyclable waste altogether.
At the end of life, OCEM Airfield and AUGIER Energy have the capability to take back products whose different parts can be recycled, making room for new raw materials like aluminum alloy, which can then be used for the covers of OCEM Airfield inset lights.
3. Sustainable Supply Chain & Production
Our supply chain focuses on collaborating solely with suppliers who adhere to our environmental charter. This ensures that we deliver products fully compliant with the ISO 14001 philosophy and maintain efficient spare parts management as long as the products are in service. Our production environment prioritizes adopting measures that eliminate the use of dangerous substances, reduce and safely recycle waste, lower energy consumption, and guarantee safe and healthy working conditions.
4. Open Standards
At OCEM Airfield, we ensure that our products and solutions meet international requirements, allowing them to interoperate with all other products following the same standards. This guarantees the perfect functioning of all products and solutions and provides the widest choice of solutions for your airfield. Proprietary products lock airports into specific solutions that cannot easily be replaced, limiting the ability to switch to more competitively priced alternatives.
