OCEM Airfield Technology’s energy-saving LED product line has been certified to comply with the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s standards for runway and taxi lighting signals.
The company’s pioneering LED lighting signals were previously certified compliant with major standards such as ICAO and the FAA, and now it can add CASA MOS139 (Manual of Standards Part 139 – Aerodromes) to the list.
The Austrialian market presents unique challenges for airfield lighting due to the country’s variable climate. Although the center and western regions are dry and arid, the northern coast experiences tropical savanna and monsoon conditions.
Inset lights in particular are susceptible to water leaks during heavy rains.
OCEM’s LED lighting signals protect against this type of flooding by incorporating a shallow base and three gaskets, which provide triple protection to prevent water from leaking into the light.
The LED technology use less energy and is longer-lasting than halogen lighting, providing savings in energy, maintenance and replacement costs.
OCEM’s LED lighting signals also offer the quality and reliability airports count on to safety manage airfield operations, now backed by MOS139 certification.
