WHERE BLAGNAC, FRANCE
OCEM project's for Toulouse-Blagnac Airport
Toulouse-Blagnac Airport is not only one of France’s biggest airports, it’s also the real home to Airbus, the international pioneer in the aerospace sector. For its move to LED the airport selected OCEM’s LED Portfolio from inset to elevated lights to signs, the regulators and all of airfield lighting accessories. Toulouse-Blagnac Airport has a solid focus on meeting its energy efficiency targets and reduce its maintenance needs by moving to LED. This is where OCEM came into play with its full range of the highest quality Airfield Ground lighting. OCEM LED lights will be installed on the CAT II/III runway. This is also the runway mostly used by AIRBUS for its flights. Before selecting OCEM as a key supplier for its lights, Toulouse-Blagnac Airport was already a customer of the company’s AUGIER power solutions range.
Our main competitors for this contract were ADB SAFEGATE and Airsafe. Strong contenders as the installed base was from ADB SAFEGATE and Airsafe is known for its low prices and fast delivery delays. Great to know that we could win from both and create a key reference airport in France as a showcase for all our solutions. The customer – who didn’t use OCEM before – has been a customer of AUGIER since long with all CCR’s coming from AUGIER including all isolating transformers and other transformers for the distribution of energy in the field, which is of course always a nice advantage. The customer visited us for a FAT on June 22nd and 23rd in the presence of some of the key people of Toulouse-Blagnac airport that selected us as well as the AGL consultant hired by the airport. The FAT was a great success so we look forward to a great new customer reference. Fabien and Simona who are managing the customer want to thank the teams that made the FAT a success. A special thanks goes out to Matteo Mazzotti, Gianni Facchini and Andrea Landini for the CCR testing. The presentation of the Quality Process & Factory tour was excellently done by Giovanna Cardinale and a big thanks to Elisa Berti for the photometric tests and Paolo Corinto for the mechanical tests. Let’s not forget the support from logistics and production to have the FAT materials available and to Elena and Helen for the organization. Great teams lead to real customer success!
