OCEM Airfield supports George Enescu International Airport’s transition to LED Airfield Ground Lighting

OCEM project's for George Enescu International Airport

OCEM Airfield Technology has won a new contract for the supply of all LED Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) equipment for the George Enescu International Airport in Romania.


George Enescu International Airport is located in the region of Bacău, Romania about 300 km to the north of capital Bucharest.


The airport was named after Romanian composer George Enescu, and is managed by the local council.


The CAT II airport will become the first full LED airport in Romania and is the home to low cost airline Blue Air. It is also home to the Romanian Air Force 95th Air Base.


The Airport is currently undergoing major Improvements, in 2019 a new terminal and a control tower were built, this year the main runway and 2 taxiways will be completely renovated and upgraded with the latest AGL solutions.


OCEM is supplying all Airfield Ground Lighting solutions in a turnkey model. The project includes OCEM’s energy efficient latest generation LED lighting family of inset and elevated LED lights with OCEM’s Integrated Lighting Monitoring and Control System (ILCMS).
