The Atlanta airport opens the way to new airport market trend: all-inset lights

WHERE ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA

YEAR 2018

The challenge

Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has been working with Multi Electric - OCEM Airfield since 2016, when the Chicago-based company supplied both inset and elevated LED runway lights.

This partnership is a great achievement for OCEM, which has strengthened its presence in the US market thanks to the quality of its products and a string of successful projects.

The project

The busiest airport in the world has strengthened its long-term relationship with Multi Electric - OCEM Airfield for the taxiway and runway LED inset lights.

The international airport in Atlanta has been the world’s busiest passenger airport since 1998. An increasingly common transition has now begun within the airport industry: the complete replacement of runway edge lights with inset lights to ensure a smaller environmental impact and greater reliability with minimal maintenance.

The practice was born with military airports and has become a trend to ensure superior durability and reliability of runway lights – two qualities proudly associated with Multi Electric – OCEM Airfield’s lights.

Known for its 100-year history in the United States, with more than 300 installations at North American airports, OCEM has supplied more than 1,250 airports globally, making it the leader and supplier of choice for the LED transition.
