Why airports need to question themselves more often?
Sometimes it’s good to ask yourself the question “is this the way we should manage our business”?
The question is not different when talking about the airside.
There are many questions to deal with and lot’s of answers are needed to answer them.
External expertise can help a lot to better understand your airside and how it compares to what regulations say. An airside that was state-of-the art ten years ago might now no longer be adequate when all the most recent regulations and safety measures need to be considered.
The airside is the most critical part of an airport, if something happens at the airside it brings the entire airport to a standstill.
The responsibility of an airside manager is not to be underestimated as (s)he needs to take care of making sure all assets function to perfection and that if anything happens, that a solution or assistance can be found in record time.
