OCEM Airfield wins new LED Airfield Ground Lighting upgrade project for Semera Airport in Ethiopia. OCEM Airfield has been commissioned to support the upgrade of Semera Airport in Ethiopia. The airport is located in Semera, a city in the Afar Region in northeastern Ethiopia and supports the operations of Ethiopian Airlines in the region. Ethiopian Airlines is also the contractor in charge of the airport upgrade. As part of the agreement OCEM Airfield has delivered all services from design to installation and from commissioning to on-site training. It’s part of OCEM Airfield focus to deliver turnkey projects and further expand its fast growing Airfield Ground Lighting business. OCEM Airfield has delivered all its latest generation LED approach, runway and taxiway lighting including all apron lighting solutions, energy efficient regulators, accessories and the airfield ground lighting management system. This contract marks yet another important win for OCEM Airfield in Africa, a key supplier to African and global airports for the past decades. Ethiopian Airlines is Africa’s largest airline in terms of passengers carried, destinations served, fleet size, and revenue. Ethiopian is also the world’s fourth-largest airline by the number of countries served.
