OCEM’s list of Russia-certified airfield ground lighting continues to grow, as several new inset lights have been approved by Russian officials for Rosaviatsia certification.

The Italian company recently hosted delegates from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) to verify compliance and issue certification for inset lights regularly used in the taxiway, runway and touchdown zones.

Over the course of a week, the agency representatives observed a series of tests and inspected OCEM’s production plant to confirm its equipment and processes guaranteed the quality required for installation in Russian airports.

The testing included salt spray corrosion tests, environmental chamber testing for resistance to both low and high temperatures, anti-freeze tests, photometric testing and electrical insulation.

The lights examined and ultimately approved were:

  • TWCD, Inset taxiway centreline and stop bar light
  • RCLF, Inset runway centreline and rapid exit taxiway indicator light
  • TDZF, Inset touchdown zone light,

All three were officially granted Russian certification on Wednesday after passing the full battery of tests. The result is proof of OCEM’s continuous product improvement efforts, and points to the company’s wide presence in the Russian market.

OCEM understands the growing demand for country-specific certifications worldwide, and is eager to meet customer needs by expanding its range of certified products.
